Wallet Setup Guide
If you received an OWT airdrop but don't see any tokens in your wallet, don't worry — your tokens are there.
MetaMask hides unfamiliar tokens until you tell it about them. This guide walks you through adding the Base
network and importing OWT in just a few minutes.
1. Add Base Network to MetaMask
OWT lives on Base, a fast and cheap network built on Ethereum.
If you've only used MetaMask on Ethereum mainnet before, you'll need to add Base first.
The easiest way is via Chainlist — one click, no manual entry.
Step 2
Search for Base in the search box.
Step 3
Find Base (chain ID 8453) in the results.
Step 4
Click Add to MetaMask and approve in the MetaMask popup.
Step 5
You're done — Base network is now in your wallet.
This automatically configures the correct RPC endpoint and chain ID.
2. Import OWT Token
Even on Base, MetaMask won't automatically show OWT until you import the contract address once.
After that it will always display your balance.
Step 1
Make sure you are on the Base network in MetaMask — tap the network name at the top to switch if needed.
Step 2
Go to the Tokens tab. Tap the ⋮ (three-dot) menu at the top-right of your Tokens list.
Step 3
Tap + Import tokens from the menu that appears.
Step 4
In the Import tokens dialog, select the Custom token tab.
Step 5
Paste the OWT contract address into the Token contract address field:
OWT Contract Address
0xB92E86d37Cd0365B86aFe745026E6B57b23A9a8e
Step 6
Token Symbol and Token Decimal will auto-fill as OWT and 18.
Step 7
Tap Next, then confirm to add the token.
Step 8
OWT will now appear in your Tokens list. If your balance shows 0, that's normal — tokens will appear once an airdrop or transfer arrives.
A zero balance after import is expected if no airdrop or transfer has arrived yet — the token is correctly
set up and your balance will update automatically when funds land.
3. Why Your Balance Might Show 0
The airdrop is real and already recorded on-chain. MetaMask simply hides tokens it doesn't know about — it
has no way to discover every token in existence automatically, so it waits for you to tell it which ones to
display.
Once you import the OWT contract address (section 2 above), MetaMask reads your balance directly from the
blockchain and shows it instantly. There is nothing to claim and nothing to wait for — the tokens are already
in your wallet.
Common mistake: importing OWT while still on the Ethereum Mainnet network. OWT is on Base — make sure the
network selector shows Base before you import.
4. Getting More OWT
There are two ways to get more OWT:
-
Swap on Aerodrome: Aerodrome is a decentralized exchange on Base. You can swap ETH or
USDC for OWT in a few clicks.
Open Aerodrome swap ↗
(same link as the "Get OWT to Play" button in the game).
-
Earn by playing: Buy in with 1 OWT and earn from the prize pool by destroying other
ships. The more players you eliminate, the more OWT you win.
5. Verifying Your Balance on Basescan
You don't need to import anything to verify your OWT on-chain — you can check directly on the block
explorer at any time, even before importing to MetaMask.
Step 2
Paste your wallet address (the 0x… address from MetaMask) into the search bar and press Enter.
Step 3
On your address page, click the Token dropdown or scroll to the ERC-20 Token Txns tab. You should see OWT listed with your balance.
If you want to confirm the airdrop transaction specifically, click the Token Transfers tab
and look for an inbound transfer from the OrbitWar airdrop contract. The "From" address will not be your own.
