You need a small amount of ETH on Base for gas fees (~$1 worth).
Option A — Buy directly on Base (easiest):
Coinbase lets you buy ETH and have it land directly on Base — no bridging needed. Open Coinbase, buy ETH, and choose "Base" as the network when withdrawing to your wallet.
Option B — Bridge from Ethereum mainnet:
If you already have ETH on Ethereum mainnet, bridge a small amount to Base using the official bridge.
