Change Log
13 Jun 2026
- Removed broken Amazon ad banner from spectator view
- Spectator mode: press Tab to cycle through the top 10 players
12 Jun 2026
- How to Play revamped — dark theme matching wallet guide, new earn-mechanic pitch, step-by-step first-game walkthrough, restyled controls table, team play section, and profit math table.
- New: How to Get OWT guide — zero-to-crypto walkthrough covering wallet setup, getting ETH on Base, swapping on Aerodrome, and verifying the OWT contract address.
- Earn mechanic callout in dialog — cold visitors now see "Kill a human player → earn 0.3333 OWT / Kill 3 humans → earn back your buy-in" directly on the connect screen.
- Social sharing fixed — Twitter/X and Facebook share buttons now contain pre-filled content. Twitter link updates dynamically after kills to show actual OWT earned. New "Copy Link" button copies orbitwar.space to clipboard.
- Referral / crew links — after connecting, players get a shareable
?ref=0x… link in an expandable "Invite Friends" panel. Referred visitors see a "you're joining their crew" note on the connect screen.
- Airdrop bar polish — added an explainer line below the counter ("Airdrop: early players receive free OWT") so new players understand what the countdown means.
- Navigation links — "How to Get OWT" linked from dialog, wallet guide, and how-to-play page. How to Play link in dialog corrected to howtoplay.html.
- Dialog 2 reorganized: wallet address now labeled, OWT help links moved directly below it, How to Play / Achievements / Change Log links moved above the GO button.
- First-time buyer guide no longer shows when you already have an active session.
- Connect Wallet now works on mobile — MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Trust Wallet, and any WalletConnect-compatible wallet supported.
- Ship preview image is back in the setup dialog — pick a color and size and see your ship update live.
- Improved mobile experience: larger text, fixed wallet connection, centered dialog.
- Social share image cards — sharing a kill or achievement on Twitter/X, Discord, or Facebook now unfurls a branded 1200×630 OG image showing the achievement, kill count, and OWT earned. Share URL (
/share?…) redirects to the game after 1 second if a human visits directly.
10 Jun 2026
- You can now change your name and team tag while in the game — tap the gear icon (⚙) in the bottom-right corner, edit your name or team tag, and tap Save. The change takes effect on your next round.
7 Jun 2026
- Accessibility: improved font sizes and contrast throughout the entry dialog and achievements page. All helper text, hints, stat labels, fine print, and filter buttons now meet minimum readable sizes (14–16px range) with clearly legible contrast on dark backgrounds. Eliminated near-invisible colors (#556, #667, #555, #444466, etc.) across all dialog steps and the achievements page.

30 May 2026
- Fixed leaderboard achievements (3rd Place, 2nd Place, 1st Place Leader) never triggering — rank was not being tracked while you were inside the top 10.
- Fixed Team Player achievement occasionally triggering incorrectly on rejoin — now requires you to be on a team for 2 continuous seconds before awarding.
- Fixed noisy server log errors when a wallet-connected player without an active session gets killed.
- Achievements page — badges now ordered easiest to hardest
- Each badge shows a hint describing how to earn it
- Filter by All / Earned / Unearned
- ElectroMine now pushes all nearby ships back every frame — ships shake in place while being zapped
- Fixed powerup label clipping — full label now visible on all powerup pickups
- 17 new achievements: earn badges for how you die (Crash Test Dummy, Sitting Duck, Plasma Bath, Mine Over Matter, Rock And Roll, Speed Bump), for grabbing each superweapon (Heat Seeker, Armed And Dangerous, Now You See Me, Iron Curtain, Minelayer, Asteroid Wrangler), for killing with each weapon (No Escape, Kaboom, Mined Your Business, Rock Star), and for 3 minutes without firing a shot (Absolute Pacifist).
29 May 2026
- New superweapon: Asteroid Teleporter — grab the powerup and drop it to teleport the nearest asteroid directly behind you, creating a deadly trap for anyone in pursuit. The asteroid freezes for a few seconds then resumes moving.
- Professional achievement badges for all 36 achievements, each with unique artwork by category.
- New Achievements page — see all 36 badges, dimmed until earned. Your progress is saved across sessions.
- New Wallet Setup Guide — step-by-step instructions for adding the Base network and importing OWT so airdropped tokens show up in your wallet.

- Players with an active session who land on a different playfield are now automatically redirected to their correct playfield.
26 May 2026

- Fixed player name labels being clipped on both sides — names like "Dark Horse" now render fully below each ship.
25 May 2026
